About Leah

Leah has been a professional freelance violinist for over 15 years. Based in the Tampa area, she has performed as part of The Florida Orchestra, Venice Symphony, and Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in addition to many solo and chamber performances all across the region. Recently, she has performed with artists such as Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, and Andrea Bocelli.

She studied chamber music under the direction of the Miami String Quartet at Florida International University. She later earned a Bachelor of Music degree from University of South Florida. While working towards her music performance degree, she also studied Ballet, Modern Dance, Kinesiology, and Anatomy of Movement.

TEACHING STYLE

Leah’s goal as a violin teacher is to help students become confident, expressive players through a strong physical foundation. She focuses heavily on good posture and a relaxed setup from the beginning. When a student feels physically comfortable and balanced, they gain the control they need to make a beautiful sound.

While she uses the Suzuki method as a tool to help guide their early ear training and progress, she pulls from many different styles to match how the student learns best. Most importantly, parent involvement in the earlier years of learning is both encouraged and expected.

Leah’s studio is a warm, supportive space where mistakes are just a natural part of growing. By teaching students how to calmly problem-solve their own challenges, she helps them build the independent practice skills they need to succeed and the inner confidence to flourish inside and outside of the studio for life.
